Drag anywhere on the board to sweep the flashlight. You don't have to touch where the light is: drag from any spot. Lift your finger and the flashlight stays put.

Position the flashlight on the first letter of a word you've spotted. Tap Find, then drag along the word's path. Tap Done to submit. Puzzle words run straight in any of 8 directions.

Bonus Words: You can find non-puzzle words too, and they can snake around. In Timed mode each one buys battery life. In Untimed mode every three bonus words earn a hint.

Spend a hint (💡) to reveal a clue to one of the hidden words below the board. Spend another on the same word and you'll get its starting letter too.

Finding your 3rd and 6th puzzle words charges up a bright burst. Tap 🔦 to widen the beam for fifteen seconds and read a much bigger patch of the board. It never drains the battery.

In Timed mode your flashlight runs on a battery. As it drains the light dims and flickers; when it dies, the lights come on and the puzzle ends. Every puzzle word you find adds 30 seconds. Bonus words add time too. Timed is the competitive version: it's shareable and counts toward your rank.

In Untimed mode, take as long as you need. Both modes keep your daily streak going. Checking this page mid-game pauses the clock.
